I Didn't Do It..

Warning - Long bitchy post about to ensue. Grab a drink, some popcorn and settle in.

I'm still trying to recover from our trip. The un-packing and laundry is done, I just did the grocery shopping, and I'm fielding my way through voice/e-mails. So why do I still feel totally discombobulated? Because I arrived home from our vacation to find myself locked out of my desktop PC (otherwise known as my 2nd husband/love/soulmate). THERE IS A PASSWORD ON IT. I didn't leave one on it when we left but lo and behold there it was. At first I thought I just forgot I did it and typed in my normal password but it didn't work. Hmm. Tried another one. No. Another one. No. And another. No. My heart started to pound and I felt myself breaking out into a light sweat (I am NOT lying). Ok, calm down..I go through my entire repoitoire of passwords, nothing. I ask the hub if he put a password on. He says no which I believe because he is rarely on that computer which is good because that would be kinda gay because that would mean both my husbands would be...never mind, i have a sick mind no matter what kind of state I'm in.

Long story short, I yell F**K !! then try every password I've ever used EVER. NOTHING. So now, after googling my brains out, I am in the process of hacking in. Supposedly I am not the only num-nut who forgot her password EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T SET ONE UP so it's somewhat common to be able to hack in and change it. My biggest concern is losing my data. It's not supposed to happen but because I am me, it probably will. Everything is backed up except for the last 3 months of pictures which, of course, is the only thing I'm worried about losing.

So here I am sitting at my laptop in the kitchen instead of continuing my sordid love affair with my desktop back in my studio (I think from now on I'll call it my lair). Even more reasons why this pisses me off:
  • I can't download our Mexico pics from my camera.
  • I can't find my camera cord to hook it up to my laptop to at least get some pics on my blog (my stupid laptop doesn't accept my memory card).
  • I need to scan a few things and email them which I can't do from the laptop.
  • I use Outlook Express so for now I have to actually log into Cox and use their horrendously slow, antiquated and pointless webmail. Hence for those of you who I haven't replied to your emails, now you know why.
  • The U key is sticking on this mo-fo laptop.
  • Who the hell did it? The dog sitters? Why? It had to have been them.

I am a little scared actually because maybe I did do it and can't remember? I know I have the memory of a gnat but not when it comes to my pc. I would have totally remembered. I never think of off the wall passwords at the last minute cuz I know I'd forget them, hence the repoirtoire...I don't believe there is even a minute chance..but maybe? NO! I KNOW I DIDN'T!!

Are these the end of my woes? No. We come home to find out street chip sealed, slurried, or whatever the heck it's called. Someone, probably the dog sitters, drove in our driveway soon after it was done and smeared that shit all over it. The hub tried everything to get it off but it won't. That crap is burned on there. Since our driveway is stamped and stained, the stain will need to be stripped, re-done and re-sealed. Now he's really pissed so I can't freak out anymore about my pc. I have now been assigned of investigating, stalking, and demanding payment from whomever did it. Yes, we know it was YOU dog-sitters (who are licensed & bonded, and yes I will throw that contract stating that they are not liable for any damage they cause in our home in their faces). You are now on the chopping block since I know darn well the city won't fix it. Your arses are mine.

Not that I don't have tons of other calls to return or anything. Now I'll have to battle YOU, dumb dog-sitters.

Anyway, hopefully I'll find my camera cord soon so I can actually blog a little about Mexico. Wish I was there now on the beach with a marg in one hand and a mango in the other..

Meat, Poultry and Blogging...Oh My..

I've been contemplating a couple things lately - I'm still doing some research but need opinions from everyone.

1. I'm thinking of giving up meat. First, let me state it's not because I'm a member of PETA or because of religious reasons. I've done this a couple times before in my life where I just lose the taste for meat and the thought of eating it just seems gross. I've never been a huge meat eater anyway and can barely finish eating half a chicken breast or steak. Also, I came across an article recently detailing the incredibly unsanitary conditions in which cows, chickens, and turkeys get slaughtered, including how (without becoming graphic) enormous amounts of bacteria are transferred to the meat/poultry products in our grocery stores. I'm a tad nauseous just thinking about it.

Anyway, my point is that I'm considering doing this again. Any advice, articles, vegi web-sites I can visit for food ideas? I'm not going to force this on my family but they are aware of my thoughts (and probably think I'm neurotic as usual). Dairy & seafood will probably still be in the picture..Yes, I know meat/chicken is protein but there are tons of other ways to get your daily recommended protein intake. I've finally gotten to the point where I know I need to take care of my body and am tired of stuffing it full of crap (which I know realistically I will continue to do on occasion) so I'm trying to make a life change rather than just diet. Seriously, I'm getting sick to my stomach thinking about meat right now so next subject...

2. How realistic is it to make money blogging? I'm talking dooce.com type blogging. Heather makes tons of money each month but at what price? She bares a lot and is a great writer which I'm sure is the draw for her readers. I've opened up a lot since I started this blog (which I'm still surprised at myself for) but I'm not sure how much more I'd let loose on..Hmm, well maybe I'll take that back. There are still some times where I want to blog about the dip sh*# who cut me off on the freeway or the dad at swim who when I got up for 2 seconds to grab Pip from her teacher to dry her off slid into my chair with his kid. Um, maybe I should give it a shot.

Pros -
*Start making some minor income to contribute to the household (or keep it all for me and buy more Coach purses plus tons more shoes)
*Continue to document my day to day activities which sometimes can be such a sitcom, throw out my opinions, observations, etc..for the world to see
*Throw my hubby under the bus everytime he irritates me
*Design a cool hip website that will constantly be evolving

Cons-
*I am a sell-out
*Bare too much and have my dad call and give me an intelligent, eloquent lecture that makes perfect sense which will make me 2nd guess myself because he's so smart..then have my mom call and ask me 100 times why I wrote that she asks the same questions 100 times.
*Selling out but making no money at it
*Possible therapy to handle all the mean and nasty comments I'll get.
Although:
1. My brother told me it'd be worth it if I'd make a lot of dough.
2. I've never really cared what people think of me and usually just laugh at them (now I could blog about them).
*Possibly be too time-consuming....?
*Someone figuring out where I live and tee-peeing my house..or worse..egging it.
*Throw my hubby under the bus everytime he irritates me then feel guilty about it (until the next time he irritates me).

I am being realistic. I know this won't be the blog-where-i-can-bring-home-my-husband-from-work-because-I'm-making-so-much-money-he-doesn't-have-to-work-anymore-blog. Or the blog where we can finally buy a boat (even though we're landlocked), travel more, and put all of our kids through Harvard.

Thoughts? And please tell me what I want to hear or I'll delete your comments. LOL, just kidding. I really do need some feedback.

No Carly..Don't go! What's up America?

Please tell me that America got it wrong. Why was Carly voted off American Idol last night? She has an amazing voice with a great range. I don't get it. I am a Brooke White fan but seriously shouldn't she have gone instead? Not a Syesha fan but the girl can belt it out. Neither her or Carly should either have been in the bottom 2. Either Brooke or Jason should have gone...and yes, call me a goob but I do text my votes in after the show so don't tell me 'if I would have voted maybe she would have stayed."

To be honest, I think Brooke got the LDS vote and Syesha got the black vote (and I don't mean that at all in a racist way people!) so that left Carly out in the cold maybe? Guess that's logical but I'm still not happy with her gone. At least she handled it well. I think she was ok with it because she's still in the top 10 so she'll be going on tour. I bet she's sure that a record contract is somewhere in the near future as well.

Oh well, my overall fave though is still a tie between the Davids..

Side note - I seriously need a Chocolate Fountain from Retro right now. Bedtime instead.

McDonalds is Dumb

Me: I'd like to order a kids meal with chicken nuggets and apple dippers.
Dumb Person: What would you like to drink?
Me: Can I just have a cup of water please? I understand if you have to charge me for the cup.
Dumb Person: We don't do that anymore.
Me: Excuse me?
DP: We only have bottled water now. That will be a $1.19 extra.
Me: What? Can't you charge me for the cup?
DP: No we don't do that anymore.
Me: Forget it then. I don't want the bottled water.
DP: Ok but we still have to charge you for the drink.
Me: Ok then. Just put water in it.
DP: We're not allowed to do that anymore..
Me: (seriously thinking this guy never graduated high school) Whatever, fine. Don't give me a drink.
DP: That will be $2.26
Me: (driving up to the 2nd window - a different person leans out)
DP2: We're going to go ahead and just give you the cup of water.
Me: Thanks, I appreciate it.
DP2: That will be $3.18.
Me: I thought you said it would be $2.26?
DP2: We're charging you for the water..
Me: (Hunter and I look at each other and laugh at the girl leaning out the window - I now purposely take my time counting out the exact change while shaking my head and hand it to the dumb person #2)

Driving away, I give Hunter a lecture on how important it is to stay in school.

I'm married. I have 3 kids. I have a big nose. Now go on and catch up.

Keep it nice or I'll post your email and make fun of you.
