2 Starbucks, Glossy and a Car

This morning Glossy and I were going to meet at Starbucks and drink some joe. Shockingly I arrive on time, buy my coffee, pick up the two free iTune downloads of the day, settle in and start staring at a man sitting outside that looks just like Sam Elliott. Bad picture I know but the lighting sucked. Side note-I also tried to buy a chocolate chip cookie but the guy says, "Sorry we already sold the 4 of them to one customer." WHAT THE F*&K? THEY ONLY MADE 4? I wanted to give him a lecture about the laws of supply and demand when it comes to these cookies but he was pleasant and I was in a good mood so I let the lucky sap slide...this time.


Jewel's new album is playing. Sounds good. Maybe I should download it. I wait and wait then start thinking..Maybe I went to the wrong Starbucks. Maybe she's just running late. Maybe she had some sort of emergency & can't leave because she's in the middle writing some great code (she's a web designer and programmer) No problem. Pip's at her little morning summer camp, I have plenty of time to wait..and wait..Ok, after a call to Kari to see if she has Glossy's number, I drive down the road to another Starbucks..

Everyone stares because I walk in with a Starbucks cup already in hand and plop down in a chair. I stare back because I think it's funny. Jewel is playing here too. Definitely going to download her new cross-over album. No Glossy. Hmm..Am I losing my mind? Maybe she just thinks I'm a dork and doesn't want to come? Oh well, still need to drink my coffee so I take out my camera phone and start taking pictures..

Bald guy who wouldn't stop staring at me when he was standing in line with his wife. I give him the stink eye and take this picture of him over my shoulder.

This gal was sharing a treat with her daughter. I couldn't resist taking a picture of her tattoo..It had some sort of symbol with Psalm 1:2-4 below it.

I looked up the scripture: Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Wow..Powerful. I think I have a new fave scripture..Beautifully funny how God puts something in your face right when you need to hear (read) it.

After waiting a tad longer, I decide to head out, go home, call my mama (Glossy, my mom was very concerned that you didn't show up!) and blog about my experience this morning. I've been thinking about starting a weekly Starbucks review on my blog anyway since I always seem to be at one so Let This Be My First Review..

I knew Glossy would email me letting me know what was going on. Sure enough, I get home and her car wouldn't start..Bummer! I SO know that feeling..That's ok girl, let's reschedule soon! :-)
